In June/July 2006 Dad and I took a 15 day holiday in Western USA.
I planned the entire trip on Kuoni’s fantastic website www.kuoni.co.uk where you can tailor make your own itinerary, choosing everything from dates, flights and car hire to the places to visit, for how long and where to stay.
Armed with our Kuoni itinerary, we landed at LAX on Thursday 22nd of June to begin our oddysey.

Here is a summary of the places we stayed and the things we saw on our road trip:-
Hilton Los Angeles Airport – 3 Nights
Hollywood Sign
The Hollywood sign was really hard to find! or to find in a position where we could take photos.
The Queen Mary Long Beach – 1 Night
The highlight of the tour for me as I love everything about this old ship.
Queen Mary was officially retired from service in 1967. She left Southampton for the last time on 31 October 1967 and sailed to the port of Long Beach, California, United States, where she remains permanently moored. Much of the machinery, including one of the two engine rooms, three of the four propellers, and all of the boilers, were removed. The ship serves as a tourist attraction featuring restaurants, a museum and a hotel. We were able to spend the night aboard.
