It is generally regarded that Bang & Olufsen makes beautiful electronics. Its designs are grown-up, considered, and the combination of luxury materials and quality industrial design principles has carved the brand a niche. B&O doesn’t do boring black boxes.
I have always loved the quirkiness of B&O products and, over time I have managed to acquire some of my favourites.

Beocenter 9500
BeoLab 5000 Speakers
Standing over a metre tall and weighing 15kg, the flat panel designed Beolab 5000 produces around 55 watts, the individual amplifiers drive two 13cm woofers and a 2.5cm tweeter contained within the 8cm deep speaker cabinet.
A rich sound is obtained with the wall on which they are situated acting as an active part of the sound reproduction process, without causing the wall to vibrate.
An LCD readout on the amplifier’s display shows the source, programme and volume level being played at that time.
These speakers would have set you back over £1000 in 1992 when they were last sold.

BeoTime
Set an alarm, and you’ll be able to tell the Bang & Olufsen BeoTime which sound you’d like to wake you up. There’s a built-in alarm tone, but it can also turn on your Bang & Olufsen sound system. You can even choose which input or radio station to wake up to.
It is designed to be held in one hand and operated with your thumb. A built-in tilt sensor lets it know which way it's orientated, and adjust the displays and controls to suit.
BeoSound 9000
A masterpiece in engineering and design from Bang & Olufsen – the system is a piece of living art, showcasing your collection of CD’s. Vertical & Horizontal wall brackets available.
BeoSound 9000 works so fast and so quietly that the change-over between two CDs seems no longer than the normal interval between tracks. Using the inaudible initial lead information on the discs, each CD can be named and memorised, and will be left in the same position as it was loaded, with its title clearly legible. Enter up to 200 titles in the memory and they'll appear on the display whenever one of those CDs is played.
The FM/AM radio has memory for up to 60 stations which can be identified by their names instead of their frequency numbers. Set the timer and wake up to your favourite programmed CD sequence or radio station.

The glass-covered natural aluminium plate holds the CDs and the rails for the CD carriage, while a backlit acrylic plate illuminates the CD currently playing.
An interesting point to raise here was that compact discs would finish their playback at the same angle as that at the time of loading them hence the CD labels are always perfectly aligned.
BeoGram 9500
The Beogram 9500 was intended for use with the Beocenter 9500, and was fitted with a polished metal inlay in the lid to match it perfectly.
